About Us and Testimonials
Needle Point opened in August 2013, we are an independent shop in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
We provide a range of services including workshops, parties, lessons, haberdashery, gifts, sewing machine hire and food.
Our aim is to provide a warm, friendly service to all our customers, whether you pop in for a cup of coffee and delicious cake or have a party with us.
We really care about passing on our skills by teaching a variety of workshops and lessons to all ages. This expands outside of the shop by working with schools and community groups teaching everyday sewing skills in a fun creativity way.

Harrogate Business Awards 2015
Let’s celebrate as we were nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year at this year’s Harrogate Business Awards.
Unfortunately we didn’t win but we are extremely happy to have been in the final 3!!!
To offer a more diverse range of workshops we have teamed up with many guest tutors specialising in different areas of sewing and craft. These include local artists, textile designers and dressmakers.
Guest workshops have included hat blocking, fascinator making, felt making, polymer clay jewellery and dress making.
If you are a freelance tutor interested in teaching your specialist craft, please get in touch to discuss workshop ideas.
Had my hen do here - was fantastic fun decorating knickers! Afternoon tea was delicious too and Caroline was so helpful throughout the party. Would recommend to anyone looking for something a bit different for their hen party:-) Sarah Ward – Hen Party
Lucy loved having her 8th birthday party here, decorating handy bags with fabric paint and buttons! Today I just popped in for a cuppa. Lovely place! Tara Stagman – Kid’s Party
Would like to thank Sarah and your Mum Sue for giving us such a good afternoon helping to get our wedding quilt together yesterday afternoon. And THANK YOU for putting this all together at such short notice so my daughter could have her hen sewing party. Wishing you all the best with your sewing café. Adding a Big Like from me Kindest regards Alison Clarke – Hen Party
My daughter, Sasha, recently enjoyed a fantastic birthday party at the Needlepoint Sewing Café in Harrogate. It’s a fantastic place – a real hidden gem. Caroline offers a huge variety of activities – Sasha chose for all her friends to make a decoupage animal, which they were then able to take home as part of their party bag. Best egg sandwiches in town, too! Nicola Wilson Parent kids party
Had a freehand machine embroidery workshop with Caroline today. Cannot recommend it enough. Had a wonderful afternoon and really really enjoyed the experience. Thankyou I will be back!! Xxx Angie Foster – Workshop
Thank you for teaching Charlotte to make a cushion today. She loved it. Carmel Bell – Kids half term activity
Caroline recently came into school, where I teach year 3 children, and carried out a sewing workshop. The children all made a notebook cover with sewn on detail. The afternoon was lovely and Caroline was brilliant with all the children. The instructions were clear and all the children were able to produce a notebook cover, including those with Special Educational Needs. The children were engaged and excited and cannot wait to take their notebooks home to show off their new skills.
We would definitely have her back again for our next sewing project.
Thanks Caroline! Nicola Gorley St Cuthbert’s School Blackburn
