Santa Sack - £30

Make a lovely Santa sack for a special child. The majority of the workshop is spent decorating your sack with an appliqué design using fabric and felt. Choose from a Christmas tree, Santa or reindeer to embellish onto the front of the bag. You can then add your child’s name (depending on time) to make this sack extra special.

Once you are happy with your design you will then learn how to make a casing, sew the sack together and create platted handles from rope.

Appliqué material and rope included. Please bring 1/2m of Christmas fabric.

Zips - Cushion and Wash Bag - £35

Does the thought of inserting a zip fill you with dread then fear not as this workshop will show you two ways on how to do it as well as make two beautiful products for the home.

You will first make a 40x40cm cushion, you will learn how to:

-          Cut out the fabric

-          Prepare seams for zip

-          Insert a zip

-          Finish to a professional standard

We will then move onto making a lovely wash bag showing you another technique of inserting a zip as well as learning how to sew a box corner and insert a lining.

Christmas Advent Bunting - £35

Decorate your home with this lovely handmade bunting advent calendar.

You will make 24 pockets in a selection of Christmas fabrics, before sewing then to some bias binding.

You will learn how to:

-          Cut out a pattern

-          Sew a neat seam

-          Cut curves, corners, points to create a professional finish

-          Apply a bias binding or tape

There is a lot to do within the 3 hours. Numbers may need to be added at home either sewn by hand, attach a numbered button or machine appliquéd.

Patchwork Quilt - £60

Create your own mini quilt using patchwork techniques.

Week 1 – you will be shown how to;

-           Cut fabric using a rotary cutter, ruler and mat

-          Sew a straight seam

-          Press a seam

-          Match seams

-          Create your design using squares

Week 2 – Once you have finalised your design you will spend this session cutting, sewing and matching your pieces together.

Knickers or PJ Shorts - £30

Come and have a go at making your own knickers or PJ Shorts. They can be sexy, frilly, pretty or casual all you need to do is have fun.

You will learn how to read a pattern, cut out fabric, construct your knickers/shorts, insert elastic and add embellishment if required. 

This is ideal for beginners or students who would like to refresh their skills. Basic sewing machine knowledge is required. 

Please bring up to 3/4m of cotton fabric depending on your size. Please ask when booking.

PJ Bottoms - £35

This is a great workshop for students who would like to try dressmaking without being too daunting. We will show you how to read a commercial pattern, pattern cut, transfer pattern markings and sew your garment together.

At the end of the workshop you will leave with a pair of comfy pj bottoms.

You will need to bring 2.5m of fabric (preferably a light to medium weight cotton).

For all our dressmaking courses it is advised to wash and iron fabric before the workshop.

Saturday Morning Children's Sewing Club £12.50 - Mittens & Scarf

This morning we will be making a matching mittens and scarf set to go with the fleece hat you made in last week’s session.

Using co-ordinating fleece each child will sew a pair of warm mittens then decorate a fleece panel with simple applique and a tasselled edge to make a scarf.

 

Suitable for children age 7+ with some sewing machine experience.

All materials, a drink and snack are included.

Christmas Wreath - £35

One of our festive Christmas workshops to get you in the Christmas spirit.

In this workshop you will make your own patchwork Christmas wreath. We will show you how to read a commercial pattern, pattern cut and construct your product.

You will need to bring 5 fat quarters of Christmas fabric or equivalent. Toy stuffing is provided.

Suitable for beginners.

Mother and Daughter Class - Christmas Wreath & Bunting - £25

Another of our Mother and Daughter sessions, this time we have a Christmas theme.

Each pair can make a Christmas wreath and Mini Christmas Bunting.

Both projects consist of making upto 12 mini fabric Christmas themed decorations such as; stocking, Christmas tree, mitten, candy cane, and star. These will be made from a selection of Christmas fabrics, felt, ribbon, buttons and fleece.

You can then choose to use toy stuffing to make your decorations bolder before sewing them to bias binding for the mini bunting or to a florist wire for the Christmas wreath.
